SUZANNE GUYAN JOINS COMPPARTNERS
DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

IRVINE, CALIF. (July 8, 2008) — Suzanne M. Guyan has joined CompPartners, a workers’ compensation, disability, and group health managed care organization, as director of product development.

Guyan has a diverse and comprehensive background in workers’ compensation and employee benefits.  She started out with Liberty Mutual as a multi-line claims examiner over workers’ compensation, property and automobile claims.  Most recently, she served as director for membership for the Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI).

For more than 13 years, Guyan worked in employee benefits for Costco Wholesale.  She joined the company in 1993 as workers’ compensation manager and was promoted to director of workers’ compensation and disability programs.  Later, as director of employee benefits, she assumed a legislative affairs role, advocating on behalf of Costco for workers’ compensation reform in several states, including California, Illinois and Texas.

“Her experience on both the employer and carrier sides gives Suzanne tremendous insight into what payers need and how to design solutions for them,” said Bruce Carlin, CompPartners’ CEO.

Guyan holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University.  She is the past chair of the California Coalition of Workers’ Compensation and a former board member of both the Association Washington Business and the Washington Self Insured Association.  She is also the former chapter president of Disability Management Employers Coalition in Seattle, Wash. and co-chaired the California Workers Compensation Forum Conference in both 2005 and 2006.
